Rooted in El Paso. Built for the desert.
Carlos Mendoza grew up watching his family tend their yard on the Westside — fighting the El Paso heat with too much water and not enough know-how. That frustration took him to New Mexico State University, where he earned a degree in horticulture and learned that desert landscapes don't have to be ugly or expensive to maintain.
He started Desert Ridge Landscaping 12 years ago with one truck and a simple idea: help El Paso homeowners build yards that actually belong in the desert. No more fighting the climate. No more sky-high water bills. Just smart, beautiful landscaping that works.
Today, Desert Ridge has grown into a full-service outdoor living team serving the Upper Valley, Westside, Northeast, and Horizon City. Every project starts the same way — Carlos walks the property, listens to what you want, and puts together a plan that fits your home, your budget, and your climate.
Carlos holds a horticulture degree from NMSU. He doesn't guess which plants will survive — he knows. That knowledge shows up in every project we touch.
We source all our plants from El Paso nurseries. We know which neighborhoods have caliche soil, which get more wind, and which face the afternoon sun. Local knowledge matters.
Every project includes a free water-savings consultation. We'll show you exactly how much water you'll save — and how much money stays in your pocket.
We'd love to walk your property and show you what's possible. Free estimates, no pressure, just honest advice from people who know desert landscaping.
